Description:   In 1852, the Quebec Seminary founded Laval University makes available to its library of 15,000 volumes. Until 1964, all volumes acquired by the two institutions have formed a single collection.

To its development in 1968 in the Jean-Charles-Bonenfant pavilion, the Library continues to develop its collections and services in order to fulfill its mission to support teaching and research at Laval University. Since its construction, access to information is increasing and new ways of learning have hatched. In 2008, to meet the needs of the twenty-first century, the Library undertook an extensive redevelopment of its spaces.
