| Description: | The University Library of Pisa was opened to the public in 1742 in rooms below the Astronomical Observatory in via Santa Maria, currently the headquarters of Domus Galilaeana. Since 1823, it based in the fifteenth-century palace of Wisdom of which occupies the wings at the north-west of the main floor, where there are the local-uses, the consultation rooms and offices, and wings to the south-west of second floor, used as warehouses library. |
